Answer: taking into consideration that Greece shares with Turkey, Italy, Spain some parts of north Africa and little more, a mediterranean climate, it will not have any specific fruit that may make it famous for itself.
But there is a famous apple, the one called ‘milo tis afroditis’ (Aphroditis apple), cause of the troyan war. Spanish version: the goddess Eris was not invited to the marriage of Peleo with Thetis (parents of Achilleus, who will die during the troyan war). She thus put a golden apple at the place where the marriage cake was, saying « for the most beautiful and best of goddesses ». Goddesses started a quarrel on who the apple was for, until there were only three left: Hera (wife of Zeus), Aphrodite and Athina (daughters of Zeus). As gods did not want to interfere in the quarrel, it was decided that a human should determine who the winner was. The chosen mortal was Paris, son of Priam, king of Troy. Hera promisses to him the kingdom of Europe and Asia, Athina glory and military dexterity and Aphrodite, the most beautiful woman on earth, the wife of Menelas, brother of Agamemnonas, Helene. Paris chose the most beautiful woman, and thus the apple becomes the property of Aphrodite. And the war started. Paris will die during the troyan war, too, while according to some legends, Helene goes back with Menelas, and according to others, she is transferred to an island where she will stay for the rest of her life.
