Answer: the horse riding sheep thiefs. Was their reputation. Population of the same environment than mongols, turk and tartar, mostly muslims, riding on fast small horses they used to ‘attack’ shepherds by riding next to the herd and by turning from the horse without saddle, taking away the sheep by turning back on the horse with the animal in front. They used to live in northern Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and FIROM. During the exchange of populations in 1922, most of those living in Greece left for FIROM and Bulgaria. There were in the village of Tragilos, before fire was put during the civil war. And a very small number of their inheritors, without horses, live still in the wherabouts of Serres. Camps of them are still to be found in the mountains of FIROM with wells and natural baths.
