Answer: it depends on someone’s universe. There are people for who the universe is as small as a house, a car, a dog or a family. Thus depending on the fluctuations (illnesses, need of painting, car crash), it affects consequently their existence. As long as things are well, it affects us positively, and when things start going wrong, we get consequently depressed as we have to start trying to solve a problem.
Now, may the whole, big, unmeasured universe affect our lifes? Perhaps some radiation arriving from forlorn stars. Perhaps a black hole eating up all light. Perhaps, more than anything else, the fact that we mean we may be affected by all this. Which is to say, that most things depend on the importance we give to them and thus, personally, I esteem you can’t be excessively affected by something you don’t even consider. Until … it’s too late.
